About Us

The Typhoon development team, have been involved in extensive R&D of Aluminium Pontoon style boats for some time. That experience, has achieved an aesthetically pleasing and functional rBB.

The pontoons  lean toward  being squarer rather than the more familiar tube style.   The models include the  500  550 & 570 cuddies and 600 Hard Top . The bigger models have the widest  internal beam of any Pontoon boats on the market.

Development:

The design brief to the development team designer, Mark Hidding [Tasmania] was simply "concentrate on the Pontoons and  the rest will follow" while the briefing might have been simple, an enormous amount of time and effort went into the continuing design and  creation of 3 evolving full length "cardboard cut outs" that preceded  the building of the Prototype. Not only is the result extremely pleasing, but the on water performance is second to none, something that the designer can be justly proud.

Thanks must go to Rick Matson Principal of Legend Boat Builders (Commercial Boats) for his considerable help and advice based on  30 odd years experience of being W.A. premier Cray Boat Builder.

Last but not least thanks to Bert Buist [Tasmania] for being an integral part of the development team and for his unfailing enthusiasm for the rBB concept.

The target market for the Typhoon series will be the keen recreational fisherman/diver who is wanting to venture further off shore safely, without having to spend an arm and a leg on a Bigger boat & Tow vehicle, with all their associated running costs, or those who want to down size but continue going offshore with safety.

The relative lightness of such boats will ideally suit those hardy souls who enjoy bush bashing to the more remote beach launching sites.
